The canyoning descent of the Tapoul gorges is a real gem of the Aigoual massif, located in the Lozère department.
This granite canyon is nicknamed “the aqualand of the Cevennes”. Indeed, it is particularly appreciated by the participants, because it presents a multitude of jumps and slides. You will be able to swim in crystal-clear water.
This fun canyon is suitable for everyone, from beginners and children to experts. With family or friends, everyone can enjoy the experience at their own pace, whether they like thrills or not. If you are not an adrenaline junkie, you can bypass all the obstacles.
You will be transported to the heart of an exceptional and diverse natural environment. This playground, ideal for canyoning enthusiasts, will allow you to discover all the facets of this adventure sport.
Go on an adventure in the Tapoul canyon and choose a course off the beaten track; swimming in narrow creeks, sliding down natural slides, jumping into giant potholes, zip-lines, abseiling, etc. There is something for everyone; experience an unusual activity in the Hérault gorges!
The Tapoul canyon is the most aesthetic of the massif. You will admire magnificent natural landscapes, unique gorges carved in the rock and transparent water. You will also enjoy the superb drop-offs with abseils and smooth slides.
The course has 9 jumps ranging from 2 to 10 metres in giant potholes. The other advantage? All the dynamic passages can be crossed differently according to your preferences: jump or zip-line, jump or abseil, etc. However, the majority of the obstacles can be completely avoided, even if you sometimes have to deviate slightly from the basic route. This possibility offers freedom to all participants!
Finally, you can benefit from a group rate from 6 people onwards (group already constituted at the time of booking).
For your safety and well-being, our instructors and experts of the region will accompany you throughout this outdoor activity. They will teach you many tips to practice and improve your level of canyoning; if you are an adept, you will be able to perfect your skills.
You will be seduced by this idyllic place full of surprises. Near the village of Rousses, the Tapoul canyon awaits you for an unforgettable day!
To preserve the site, it is compulsory to take a shuttle bus to Rousses which will take you to the Tapoul canyon and the starting point of the activity. This bus set up by the town hall costs 3.50 € (return ticket).
Once you have arrived, you will be equipped with the material brought by the instructors (helmets, harnesses, wetsuits and neoprene socks, waterproof bags and canisters, ropes, descenders and carabiners); remember to inform the office of your height and weight in advance.
You will then undertake a 5 minute walk to reach the river. The descent takes an average of 3 hours; go on a memorable adventure with slides, waterfalls, jumps, abseils and swimming.
At the end of the course, an easy walk back through the undergrowth of about 15 minutes will take you back to the road where the shuttle bus will be waiting.
You will need to wear a swimming costume and closed shoes dedicated to the activity. We advise you to bring a backpack with water, a towel and a snack. Your bag will then be put in a waterproof container for the duration of the descent.
Our team of professional instructors will ensure a friendly and relaxed atmosphere; laughter and thrills guaranteed!
