Climbing developed at the end of the 19th century with the first mountaineers climbing the great summits. It was not until the 1970s that this discipline became more democratic and in 1988 that the first competitions were organised.
Climbing is a multifaceted sport and can be practiced in different ways. The main aim is to move along a wall to reach a summit; this wall can be artificial or natural. Climbers can move on low boulders that do not require belaying, on small cliffs of about 30 metres or on large routes. The latter are walls of several hundred metres; adventure sports enthusiasts are amazed by this height! Over the years, equipment and facilities have evolved and today, climbing is considered a safe sport that participants enjoy.
The climbing activity starts with a complete equipment of the participants: harness, helmets, climbing shoes, descenders, double lanyards, safety straps, ropes, carabiners. Remember to wear sports clothing so that you are comfortable when moving around. It is also advisable to carry a backpack with water and a picnic lunch.
Under the supervision of the instructors and after the explanation of the safety rules, the ascent can begin. Depending on the program to choose, the activity can last between 2.5 and 6 hours (including the approach and return walk). You can take your time to admire the breathtaking scenery and contemplate the route you have taken. You can be proud of your performance!
At the end of the activity, hand over the equipment to the guides and return to your vehicles.
